چکیده
Graves’ disease is an autoimmune disorder characterised by excessive production of thyroid hormones, which induces increased cellular metabolism in most tissues and reactive oxygen species (ROS). The aim this work was to analyse the effect ROS on cell viability expression catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase-1 (GPx-1), superoxide dismutase (SOD-1) DNA methyltransferase-1 (DNMT-1) peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from patients with newly diagnosed or treated methimazole. For study, women ( n = 18), methimazole 6) healthy subjects 15) were recruited. evaluated flow cytometry, viability/apoptosis PBMC analysed cytometry fluorescence microscopy. Genomic CAT, GPx-1, SOD-1 DNMT-1 quantified real-time PCR. We found high levels disease. Methimazole treatment reversed these parameters. Cell similar all study groups.
Negative Regulation of Semaphorin-3A Expression in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells Using MicroRNA-497-5p
Background: Semaphorin-3A (Sema3A), as a secreted semaphorin, is an immune modulator molecule participating in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) modulate the target-gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. It has been proposed that miRNAs may be crucial to the modulation of the function of semaphorins. Previous findings have proven that miR-497-5p is upregula...

Background: Psoriasis is a T cell-mediated autoimmune disease with elevated level of pro-inflammatory cytokines belonging mainly to Th1 pathway. We investigated whether treatment with micronutrients along with methotrexate (MTX) is able to modulate mRNA expression of Th1 and Th2 patterns and its correlation with disease severity. Methods: Thirty plaque type psoriasis patients with Psoriasis ...

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a T cell mediated autoimmune disease with unknown etiology. Appropriate MS therapeutic strategies need thorough understanding of both disease etiology and pathogenesis mechanisms. Ligation of TLR-2 and TLR-4 stimulates the production of several cytokines leading to CNS autoimmunity and neurodegenerative diseases. Objective: To find a relationship between M...
